The Netherlands America University League of Ann Arbor is a
non-profit organization of people in southeastern Michigan interested
in all aspects of Dutch and Flemish culture.
Many but not all members have some kind of association with the
University of Michigan. Many speak Dutch, many do not, but all share an
interest in the social, cultural, literary, political and scientific
life of the Netherlands and Flemish-speaking Belgium.
The league was founded in 1976 and has about 70 members in all age groups.

Dutch brown-bag lunch meetings - Dutch and Flemish Studies at UM (Thursdays)
- May: Annual Members Meeting and Rijst tafel (Indonesian-style food)
- June/July: BBQ picnic
- September: Annual Reception
- October/November: DeVries / Van der Kooy lecture — co-sponsored by the De Vries–VanderKooy endowment, the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures, the Netherlands America University League (NAUL), the Netherlands Embassy, and an assortment of other bodies who may support a particular lecture, e.g., the Institute for the Humanities or the International Institute or the Department of Social Work, etc.
